WELCOME LETTER FROM DENNIS PRAGER
Dear Friends,
Whenever I ask listeners what country they’d most like to visit, the answer I invariably get is "Israel." It makes perfect sense. Having been there myself many times, I know firsthand what a unique place it is. Somehow calling it a "travel destination" doesn’t quite capture the special quality of this amazing country. For Jews and Christians alike a better description would be "home." Of course, America is our real home, but Israel has a claim on all of us. If you’ve been there, you know what I'm talking about. And, if you haven’t, once you go, you will.
Well, the wait is over. I’m taking a group to Israel in September, 2011 for ten days. I’ve crafted an itinerary that will help you experience both Biblical and modern Israel. It promises to be an amazing trip -- meaningful, informative, and fun.
We’ll start in Tel Aviv, the center of contemporary Israel, a vibrant city that is also the home to some of the most successful high tech companies in the world. Then, we'll go to the Golan Heights to understand its military significance and spend time in the Galilee, so important to both Christianity and Judaism. From there to Masada where the Jews took their fabled, doomed stand against their Roman conquerors. We’ll continue into Jerusalem, the Holy City, where every step is a journey into civilization-changing history. Along the way we’ll visit a kibbutz, an Arab village, and a West Bank settlement.
I’ll be giving talks throughout the trip, sharing my thoughts about this remarkable country, my own personal history with it and why I think its destiny is tied up with our own. You’ll also be hearing from some of the country’s leading thinkers, politicians and clergy.
Visiting Israel changes you, my friends. Here’s a chance to do it with me.
Sincerely,
Dennis Prager |
