At age 15, I boarded a plane to teach English at a summer camp in Poland. Between lessons, I explored Kraków and its surroundings with new local friends. Those early experiences of deep cultural connection transformed how I understood the world. What began as one summer abroad became many. I returned to Eastern Europe and continued to teach again in Poland, as well as in Bulgaria and Romania, and later took on a long-term teaching role in France. I also lived and worked in international development in French-speaking West Africa, a profoundly immersive experience that shaped my understanding of travel at its deepest level. These formative years shaped the direction of my professional life.

For the first two decades of my career, I focused on helping others develop the skills to navigate cultural differences with confidence and insight. I trained U.S. diplomats and C-suite executives, designed global learning experiences, and ultimately served as Director of Study Abroad at the University of Southern California. My doctoral degree in adult learning and cultural competency further sharpened my ability to understand how people experience and adapt to the world — insight I use to anticipate the needs of my clients navigating unfamiliar environments.

Today, I bring that same depth of cultural expertise, research rigor, and attention to detail to every journey I design. For me, travel is fundamentally about people: how we connect, learn, and grow through experiencing the world differently. Because travel has been profoundly transformative in my own life, I approach each itinerary with intention, care, and deep curiosity about what will make a journey meaningful for you.

Most Memorable Travel Experience

I recently returned from a two-week trip to Kenya and Tanzania. The wildlife encounters were absolutely stunning, with constant sightings of lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, and more. When I wasn't on a game drive at dusk and dawn, I did a private helicopter excursion in Kenya's Chyulu Hills National Park, a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti, and experienced East African culture firsthand through its food, people, and places. It was exactly how I like to travel and design trips for my clients -- the perfect blend of exhilaration, luxury accommodations, and meaningful cultural connection.

If Your Personality Was Depicted in a Property, Which Would You Be?

Ol Donyo Lodge in Southern Kenya. Like the lodge, I am multi-faceted, blending adventure with calm, cultural richness with thoughtful luxury. Just as the lodge balances rugged landscapes with refined comfort, I strive to create journeys that are both exhilarating and deeply grounding, allowing travelers to explore and reflect. Like people, I believe properties should be multi-dimensional — from soaking in your private pool overlooking zebras and elephants at the watering hole to meditative evening game drives with your loved ones.

Travel Tip

Always make copies of your passport and store them safely in more than one place. For added security while traveling, wear a discreet money belt or belt bag to keep your passport, cash, and cards safe and close to you. A prepared traveler is an empowered traveler!

How Do You Define Luxury Travel?

To me, luxury travel is about connection, curiosity, and joy. It’s immersing yourself in a place and its culture, discovering hidden stories, and sharing moments that become lasting memories. Luxury is not just comfort — it’s personalized experiences that balance adventure with ease, reflection with fun, and allow you to feel fully present wherever you go.
