Most Memorable Travel Experience

"One of my most memorable travel experiences happened in Chiang Mai, Thailand, during the magical Loy Krathong festival. Years ago, I designed a multi destination journey through Thailand for myself, carefully timing the trip so I could be in Chiang Mai during the festival. I had heard about it before, but nothing prepares you for the moment when you actually stand there and witness it. As evening falls, the entire city seems to glow. Monks chant in temple courtyards, families gather along the riverbanks, and thousands of small floating offerings decorated with flowers, candles, and incense drift slowly down the water as people make wishes for the year ahead. Later in the night, lanterns begin rising into the sky. One after another, hundreds, then thousands, until the darkness above Chiang Mai fills with floating lights. It is quiet, peaceful, almost surreal. You feel like you are witnessing something deeply spiritual and beautifully human at the same time. For me, moments like this are the reason I love designing journeys around the world. When travel is thoughtfully planned and timed with cultural events, local traditions, and meaningful experiences, it becomes so much more than a vacation. It becomes a memory that stays with you for a lifetime. And sometimes, all it takes is being in exactly the right place at exactly the right time."
