Most Memorable Travel Experience

We were on our honeymoon in Italy, traveling on a newlywed budget from Venice to Florence. Our hotel arranged a water taxi to drop us near Piazza San Marco, where we stood with our luggage, waiting for the next vaporetto. And waiting. After what felt like an eternity, a flight attendant approached us and explained in English what we hadn't known: there was a transportation strike that day. The vaporetto wasn't coming. We'd need to walk to the train station. Without cell phones or Google maps, we set off through Venice's labyrinth of cobblestone paths, dragging our wheeled luggage over every uneven stone, hoisting it up and down the arched bridges, to catch our train and somehow we made it to the train and Florence. The 'most memorable travel experience' part wasn't the exhausting, stressful walk, it was that flight attendant who took pity on two confused newlyweds and took a moment to help. That simple act of kindness, from someone we didn't know, saved the day and our trip. Travel memories aren't just about the places you see and the pictures you take; it's about the people you meet along the way, and sometimes how a single conversation can be the difference between a disaster and a story you'll tell for years.

Travel Tip

I love a private transfer and a free day or two in the itinerary to explore and get lost!

How Do You Define Luxury Travel?

Luxury is personal and can vary from trip to trip. Sometimes it's five-star hotels, other times it's unique, off-the-beaten-path experiences. But when planning a trip for my clients, I believe luxury starts with a foundation of comfort and convenience. It's about thoughtful planning: hotels strategically located near what they want to see, pre-arranged private transfers so they're never scrambling for transportation, and connecting them with local guides who don't just recite facts-they bring the destination to life, share where to find the best meal, point out the perfect sunset photo spot, and reveal hidden gems they may not discover on your own. Traveling itself is a luxury. But when I handle the details behind the scenes, my clients can simply enjoy the trip - and hopefully never realize that the real luxury is how all those pieces came together so seamlessly.
