That commitment has continued to shape the fleet. Origin arrived in 2016, followed by Theory in 2019 and Evolve in 2023, each custom-built expedition yacht designed to maximize efficiency and minimize environmental impact. Wave-piercing keels, an underwater bulb, an optimized bow, advanced stabilization systems, a steel hull, and a lightweight composite superstructure reduce drag, improve guest comfort, and lower emissions. Together, these design choices cut fuel consumption and carbon emissions by more than 30 percent, while continuous catalytic converter systems bring nitrogen oxide emissions down by 90 percent.
Longer Stays, Lower Volume
The Galapagos National Park protects the entire archipelago, with only about 3 percent of the islands open to human settlement. The remaining 97 percent is preserved as a sanctuary for the wildlife that makes the Galapagos one of the world’s most remarkable destinations, and every Ecoventura itinerary is designed around these conservation principles. Conservation at the Center
Every Ecoventura voyage supports lasting conservation work across the islands. Between January and June 2026, guests and crew planted more than 1,000 native plants across the Galapagos highlands at El Chato and Primicias in Santa Cruz, part of the onboard Plant a Tree activity. The six species planted, Scalesia, Chala, Espino, Cafetillo, Matazarno, and Guayabillos, reflect one shared commitment to restoring the highlands. Passengers also donated more than 60 kilograms of school supplies to local schools supporting children with disabilities, and transported more than 3,000 kilograms of recyclable material to mainland recycling centers, part of Ecoventura’s long-standing commitment to eliminating single-use plastics.
