Originally from the Garden State, Monique is the daughter of a Haitian mother and German father and spent much of her youth traveling, from carnivals in the Caribbean to the beer halls of Munich. A University of Miami graduate, Monique began her career in fashion but a move to New York offered the opportunity to transition to the travel industry where she worked with a luxury members-based travel company. During her 12 years in the industry she has traveled the world from the jungles of Chiang Rai to the reefs of French Polynesia. She is a Partner at MAYAMAYA Travel and lives between Brooklyn and Long Island with her two children and Swedish husband.

Her favorite destinations and hotels include Ett Hem in Stockholm, Jose Ignacio, La Residence in South Africa, St Barths, and Singita Pamushana in Zimbabwe.
