Checking In? How Accommodations Add to the Experience

The accommodations you choose while on vacation can serve several purposes. Perhaps you only want a place to rest your head at the end of an exhilarating day. Or, maybe you want to stay somewhere as captivating as the destination you are visiting. Here are two hotels that can enhance the enjoyment of any holiday.
First: Discover a true undiscovered gem in the “Grand House” in Vila Real de Santo Antonio. Where is that, you ask? It sits along the breathtaking Algarve Coast in Portugal.
The “Grand House” is a Relais and Château property and not only meets but surpasses the standards of this specialized association. The rooms and amenities are sumptuous, and the dining is both region-specific and entirely American palate friendly. Incredibly genuine and accommodating staff (they are fun!) will make your time there one you will be eager to repeat.
Manager and Host Marita Barth (so lovely!) will personally see serving the needs and wishes of clients. Does anyone want to zipline from Portugal to Spain across the Guadiana River? How fun is that? Golfers? Beautiful courses surround the Algarve within a short drive. This delightful accommodation is extraordinary and somewhat of a hidden secret in a charming and thoroughly walkable coastal town.
Second: Immerse yourself in the splendor of the Hotel Alfonso XIII in Seville (only a 1 ½ hour drive from the Grand House) -- it will not disappoint! The hotel has undergone a complete refreshment (now a Marriott property) and is utterly lovely. Each room exudes authentic décor (much of it still original -- a fun process/story that Alberto Rodriquez, the sales manager, would love to share). Public spaces are magnificent and reflect the beautiful and unique style of Seville. Guest rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-arranged.
The hotel is a popular spot for a more affordable wedding (vs. Italy, France, or the UK) in their spectacular ballroom. Fairytale wedding proposals or special announcements occur on their private terrace (maintained for these special occasions), with an incredible view over the city rooftops. There is so much to enjoy and bask in at the Alfonso. The food is delectable at the hotel -- but the prettiest area of Seville (with many marvelous restaurants) is right out the front door. The Old town is tremendously charming, warm, and welcoming, with beautiful architecture and winding walking streets. Wonderful!
